The sui Network has rolled out critical upgrades to its mainnet following a significant six-hour outage on January 14 that stalled approximately $1 billion in transactions. The upgrades, including version V1.63.3 and protocol version 107, address validator consensus issues and optimize transaction confirmation paths.

Core fixes focus on resolving node agreement failures, improving finality assurance, and disabling vulnerable RPC interfaces. The team is now prioritizing faster detection mechanisms and enhanced testing to prevent future disruptions.

Network operators detected the outage at 3:24 pm UTC, with developers working urgently to restore functionality. The incident highlights growing pains for newer LAYER 1 chains as they scale under real-world conditions.
